Chinese Obese couple weighing 62 stone (393 kg) and start weight loss regime so they can have a baby – A young couple has travelled more than 1,700 miles from Sichuan, south-west China, to Jilin, north east China, to have weight loss treatment.

The couple, who have a combined weight of 62 stone (393 kg) hope that losing weight will help them conceive a healthy baby, reported People’s Daily Online.

They are now undergoing treatment at a hospital in Changchun, Jilin.

Lin Yue and his wife Deng Yang are just approaching their 30s.

Although their weight has been a problem for a long time – they had to get special outfits made for their wedding – they’ve decided now is the time to take action.

At present, Lin, who works in a factory, is just five foot four but has a 63-inch waist. His wife, who works as a nurse, is five foot three and has a 67-inch waist.

Compared to the average weight of 10 stone six pounds (66 kg) for men and 9 stone (57 kg) for women in China, Lin and Deng have a combined weight of about three times that of an average couple.

Their weight has caused them a lot of problems in public as, in China, obesity is frowned upon.

Lin and Deng have tried to stay home as much as possible to avoid gossip and ordered most of their food and clothing online.

The couple now wants to have a child and feels that losing weight will help them conceive.

At the unnamed hospital in Changchun, they had their measurements taken and have been put on a fitness and diet regime.

It is not clear whether the couple will also receive surgical help.

Deng hopes that she and her husband could have a new set of wedding photos taken at the end of their treatment.

Their attempt at weight loss comes less than a month after China’s fattest woman underwent weight loss surgery to find love.

Qian Qian, from Changchun, weighed a quarter of a tonne when she had surgery.

She has been fitted with a gastric bypass and hopes to be able to lose about 100lbs a year on a new regime.
